Open networking begins at 7:15am and meetings begin promptly at 7:30am.

Meeting was called to order by Shay LeVesque at Ducro___ and all the following discussions and actions were taken:

Meeting minutes from October 25, 2018 approved as submitted.

WELCOME VISITOR(S):

  • Walt-Nova Star

MISSION STATEMENT:

  • Read by _Don P._ (a different member will be selected to read the mission statement every week) – “To exchange and promote business with members and support member businesses through information sharing. To support secondary business education in Ashtabula County encouraging and sustaining entrepreneurship.”

SUCCESS STORY:

  • Success stories are the week before your 10-minute. Don’t forget to get your bio ready.

  • Elena shared that success was found in the Ashtabula County Business Exchange by the tightknit community culture our group represents.

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Reminder: If Ashtabula City Schools or A-Tech Schools are closed or delayed our meeting will be cancelled.

  • Remember everyone must continue to recruit for open categories in our membership.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Everyone agrees that venue change was a success. If the group continues to change venue, literature/website may have to be changed or updated to reflect meeting locations.

  • Lakehouse Inn resigned.

VP REPORT:

  • Attendance reports for 11/1/18 was sent out and approved as submitted.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

  • Current balance = $15,698.99

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Ethics: CHAIR- Don P.

  • Nova Star application is pending.

  • Voting proposed for Dec. 6th 2018

Membership/Marketing: CHAIR- Susan Rossette

  • Social & ‘Sock Exchange’ on Nov. 16th at Lorello’s Winery 6pm

Scholarship: CHAIR: Ken M.

  • A-tech reps to speak with group on scholarships.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES:

  • 11/16/18 Ashtabula County Christmas Parade.

  • 11/16/18 ACBE Social.

  • 1/19/18 MLK jr. @ Ashtabula Library

  • 1/23/18 YMCA’s dine to donate at Applebee’s 11a-9p

ONE-MINUTE COMMERCIALS:

  • One-minute commercials presented.

  • The Bee awarded by Don P. to:___Mike F.__________

TEN MINUTE PRESENTATION:

  • Scott C. MDR corp./ A. Lewis Supply

  • Scott C. was able to share with the group the nontraditional promotional products his company has to offer, challenging the group to think of everyday items that could be branded. With the holidays around the corner we also learned MDR could supply branded gifts perfect for anyone on your list. Please be on the lookout, A.Lewis will have a E-commerce website in approximately 6 months.
